Avelle: Bag Borrow or Steal

Though frugal, I do like my designer toys.  Read on, faithful subscribers.

The way Avelle describes their service is like this (directly from their website):

Avelle allows you to rent a designer bag (read: you don't have to drop $800 for a Louis Vuitton) and you can send the bag back when you get tired of it!  They have a great selection of luxury designers from which to choose.  You can also rent accessories like jewelry, sunglasses, and watches.  Everything that is sent to you is meticulously inspected and cleaned.  Additionally, when you're ready to ship your item back, return shipping is free!

Prices of rentals depend on the designer and type of bag you are borrowing.  For instance, this Gucci clutch is $32/week or $92/month:

This company also sells bags (meaning you keep them when they get to your house) for a FRACTION of the original price of the bag.  Some bags are used, but they are in great condition.  This week the specials are on Coach bags- and they're going fast.  Check out the Coach Sale.   The sales are by far the best value.  I mean think about it, though it is pretty cool to rent a bag and get rid of it when you don't want it anymore, if you put away rental money for a few months, you could have a designer bag to keep forever.
