Listed below are a few of my favorite Daily Deals Sites. A Daily Deals Site is a website that has special offers of brand-name merchandise at discounted prices. Typically, if I need something, I prefer to go to a store to try it on, etc. However, the returns policies at these sites are fair, and $30 for a pair of $120 Birkenstock sandals is worth it to me.
Each of these sites is a membership-only site, and will e-mail you daily (or on the interval you set upon joining). Depending on how often you buy, sites like Gilt will personalize the deals just for you!
Some examples of products I've bought from these sites (just do you can see how good some of the sales really are):
Coach Factory: www.coachfactory.com -- I have bought wristlets for $10-$20 as well as $300 bags for less than half price. Coach Factory often runs specials so you can get coach bags on the cheap and no one would ever know. Around Black Friday they also do an extra 30% off sale.
Zulily.com: www.zulily.com -- EXCELLENT site for women's wear and kids' wear. This is where I bought the Birkenstocks as well as Crocs for my son for $14 (regularly $35). What I like about Zulily is that they do free shipping all weekend after your first purchase, so if you buy one brand from Zulily on Saturday, you don't pay shipping again until the following Monday. They also have a lot of great steals for plus size women and occasionally they have kids' and womens' UGG boots!
Gilt.com: www.gilt.com-- For designer finds daily, GO HERE. They have sales for men, women, kids, home, and travel. While you used to need a code to join Gilt, now there is no wait; it is instant registration. Gilt often has high end stuff for low prices.
Fabkids.com: www.fabkids.com-- I originally joined Fabkids because I am a petite woman and I thought the outfits were oh-so-cute for girls. Right now, Fabkids only offers girls' clothing, but for $39.99 (and sometimes when there is a sale, $19.99), you get a COMPLETE 3 PIECE OUTFIT. How fab is that?! Boys' outfits are coming soon for your little guy, too. I think that this site is totally worth joining, especially if you're small, or you have a little one at home. Did I also mention that they have free shipping AND free returns? Double score!

Hello!
After a very, very long hiatus, I am glad to say that I am back in action. Having a baby sure made it difficult to find any time to post sales (but trust me, I still found them! I'm sorry I didn't share). In any case, my new mommy shopping knowledge will now allow me to include kids' stuff in this blog, something about which I'm very excited. Everyone can use savings, especially those of us with kids!
I'd also like to take this blog in the direction of product reviews and reviewing some local businesses where I see fit. I'm in the Northern New Jersey area in case you're interested.
So, now that we've had that quick hello and "welcome back", let's get shopping, shall we?

Back to School = Educator Discounts
I intend for this to be an ongoing list of discounts for educators. Please comment or send an e-mail if you have one (or more!) to add. As I continue to add more, I will begin to categorize.
Whenever you shop, ask for an educator discount! You never know!
AC Moore: 10% off teacher discount program. Sign up in store and wait for your card in the mail. Be sure to bring proper ID. They like to see your union card. If you work in private school, bring a recent pay stub (I know, I know.)
Apple Store: 5%-10% off when you present your ID. Last I checked, this was only valid on computers and software, not iPods or any type of accessory.
Ann Taylor Loft: 15% every day, but you need to bring the printed coupon from the website. Cannot be combined with other sales/discounts. Sign up at http://www.loftlovesteachers.com (thank you, Jess)
Banana Republic: Varies by store, so you have to inquire. 10% off when you show your ID.
Barnes & Noble: Save 20% off your purchases for school (but sometimes they'll let you do personal ones, too!). Sign up at your local Barnes & Noble. You need the card to use the discount.
Borders: 25% off. Sign up for the card in-store!
The Container Store: 15% off when you sign up for their Organized Teacher Program (in-store)
Dell: 10% off on Dimension desktops or Inspiron laptops.
Fed-Ex/Kinkos: 15% off on most products and services at participating stores. Visit https://psg.kinkos.com/educator/ for more information.
HP: 10% off. Call to confirm.
JCrew: Save 15% off your purchase with educator ID. Works for students, too! Cannot be used on sale items. Also valid at outlet locations.
The Limited: 15% off when you present your ID.
New York & Company: 15% off your purchase with educator ID. Also valid for firefighters, police officers, and nurses!
New York Times: Offers 50% off home delivery for K-12 teachers. To enroll call 1-800-NYTIMES. Also valid for current subscribers.
Wall Street Journal: 50% off most print subscriptions and online subscriptions for K-12 teachers. Visit http://www.wsj.com/prof.
